NATPE was back, becoming a hub for buying and selling projects in development and catalog programming, as well as a platform for decision-makers across the media ecosystem and this first edition was a success according to Brunico who organized the event.
What do attendees say? Julio Sobral, Senior VP, Channel Distribution, Blue Ant Media: "NATPE 2024 was a great event, offering a wide range of opportunities from access to the delegate list on both sides, buyers, and acquisitions, to excellent keynote speeches and panels discussing industry trends. I had many opportunities to network with independents and U.S. studios.
Luciano Molina, CEO/Founder Playmakers Entertainment: "It was great to use the natpeXchange platform. We received exhibitor lists in advance. We had over 30 meetings through it, so it was really great to use and be able to contact every potential client for us. I had a great pre-NATPE experience. I'm here in the buyers' room, which is great for holding meetings. I want to thank the entire organization because everything was great for us."
Alberto Gomez Paredes, Director of Programming, Telcom Ventures S.A.: "This is the twentieth time I participate in NATPE. It's a joy to be here again, now under Brunico's direction. And I'm very pleased that it's well-organized. The panels have really had great production value. Very professional. I hope next year also has a great market, and I hope to return. It has been a surprise for me because I didn't know exactly what to expect, and I found something better than I thought. It has been a great surprise."
Some key initiatives were launched at NATPE Global 2024 like NATPE Global Pitch Showcase, an international live pitch event for scripted comedy, drama, and non-scripted/format projects. Finalists had the opportunity to present their projects live to a decision-maker audience during the event, providing access to an international network of contacts and personalized advice. Winners include: SCRIPTED COMEDY: Joey Dedio for "Tio Papi"; SCRIPTED DRAMA: AubriEbony Williams for "D Diary"; NON-WRITTEN: Val Idehen for "Maurice VS."
