Indian Adaption of Cheat - Mithya starring Huma Qureshi and Avantika Dassani premiered on ZEE5 across 190+ countries on 18th February

ZEE5, India’s largest home-grown video streaming platform and multilingual storyteller for multiple entertainment seekers, will be the home to the Indian adaptation of the UK hit drama CHEAT – aka Mithya. Produced by Applause Entertainment in association with Rose Audio Visual Production and directed by Rohan Sippy, Mithya, a 6-part series, features a compelling cast led by Huma Qureshi and Avantika Dassani and supported by Parambrata Chatterjee, Rajit Kapur and Samir Soni in pivotal roles.

Set in Darjeeling, a picturesque Hill station in North India, the series navigates through the conflicted relationships between a Hindi literature professor Juhi, played by the Bollywood sensation Huma Qureshi and her student Rhea, played by debutant Avantika Dassani. What sparks off as a classroom conflict, soon spirals out of control, triggering an adverse psychological combat between the two women leading to fatal consequences and shocking revelations.

Mithya, is an original adaption of the 2019 series, CHEAT - which was written by Gaby Hull and produced by Two Brothers Pictures for ITV (UK) in association with All3Media International.

With two fiercely intelligent minds unwilling to back down, Cheat will keep audiences guessing from the start, exploring just how far we’re prepared to stand up for what we believe, and at what cost.
