The thriller is focused on Elena Zonin, a policewoman, who lives in Rome and deals with computer crimes, in particular, crimes against children. She follows, with a passion that borders on obsession, the investigations concerning the disappearance of minors. A new case, linked to an investigation she has been working on for some time, takes her to Venice, the city of her youth, from which she fled twenty years earlier and where she finds Daniele, her great love who became deputy police officer and married Giulia, her best friend . Venice with its palaces, the mystery of its streets, the silence of the squares is the natural scene of the investigation that force them working side by side. The hunt for criminals pushes them into the mists of the Polesine, to discover secrets that have been kept hidden for years and are now coming back to light. The intertwining of past and present reopens old wounds. Overcoming them, for each of them, means finally being able to look to the future.
