Series Mania Forum announces
Laurence Herszberg, founder and general director of Series Mania, today announced the “Call for Submissions” for its three writing residencies for developing screenwriters that are part of the Series Mania Forum (22-24 March, 2022). These unique residencies bring together writers and producers from all over the world to take part in workshops and training programs.

The “Call for Submissions” is now open until December 20, 2021, for the Writers Campus, an immersive week-long workshop gathering 20 emerging TV drama writers; the Drama Series Co-Writing Residency Israel-France, where 10 Franco Israeli duos will participate in a series of workshops to pitch and develop their projects; and the DEENTAL Series Workshop, for talent coming from African, Caribbean, and Pacific countries. All three programs will take place in Lille, France from March 18-24, 2022. Applications can be made at seriesmania.com/forum/en/current-calls-for-applications/

“We are delighted to be accepting applications for the 2022 edition of our writing residencies. Our three programs, which take place concurrently in our creative workspace in Lille, operate independently but participate in common networking events and masterclasses with special guests. With the Writers Campus launched in 2017, the Drama Series Co-Writing Residency Israel – France in 2019, and the DEENTAL Series Workshop earlier this year, we are truly the launchpad for many of today’s burgeoning writers from around the world,” commented Herszberg.

Added Herszberg, “Series Mania is pleased to once again be collaborating with our various program partners who are each working hard to support emerging screenwriters and a diversity of voices within the series industry.”

“Supporting Cultural diversity in film and audiovisual works is a top priority for the CNC. In a context weakened by two years of a pandemic, to support film & TV professionals around the world is more essential than ever. This is why we are really pleased to collaborate with Series Mania on two programs: The Drama Series Co-Writing Residency Israel – France and the DEENTAL Series Workshop within the framework of the DEENTAL program, with the financial cooperation of the European Union and the support of the organization of the African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS). We are proud to support emerging talent and foster transnational initiatives that will enhance the quality of television series,” commented Dominique Boutonnat, President of the CNC, Centre National du Cinéma et de l’Image animée.

“We are very pleased with the ambitions that we set for ourselves through the Drama Series Co-Writing Residency Israel-France. We are grateful to the writers and partners for this rare opportunity to bond, to create, to bridge cultural and creative aspirations. We are excited to meet future challenges and a new group of inspiring writers in this third edition,” commented Ziv Naveh, CEO and Artistic Director – GMFF, Gesher Multicultural Film Fund, Israel
