Love Island is turning up the heat this summer with record ratings
ITV Studios’ dating sensation Love Island has got the world sizzling this summer! The long-awaited seventh series of Love Island launched on ITV2 in the UK with 4.6 million viewers (TV+online +7 days), including 2.7 million viewers on ITV Hub. This makes it Love Island’s biggest launch on Hub ever. It was the most watched digital channel audience of the year so far for both Individuals (4.6 million viewers) and 16-34 Adults (1.9 million 16-34s tuned in on a TV set). The programme won the slot for 16-34s and was in second place for Individuals on a TV set, only beaten by Euros 2020 on ITV. This led to ITV2 having its biggest day since the launch of the last series in January 2020.

While the love adventure has fully started in the UK, on the other side of the world a group of 12 American sexy singles started their summer of love in Hawaii. The third season of the US version launched yesterday night on CBS. Paramount+, the streaming service from ViacomCBS, will bring Love Island fans access to even more of the action this season with 15 hours of exclusive and uncensored content in addition to the ability to watch Love Island live and on-demand through the service. Each week, Paramount+’s Love Island coverage will include an additional – too hot for broadcast – episode on Mondays; plus “Love Island: The Drop,” featuring an unfiltered look at the intimate goings-on straight from the Villa; and “Love Island: Laid Bare,” an exclusive look at previously un-aired moments on Fridays.

In Italy, Love Island wrapped up a spectacular successful first season. The reality dating phenomenon was the most viewed series on Discovery+ and has been a big driver of subscriber growth for the platform. Meanwhile, the Dutch version was also a massive success on SVOD platform Videoland. Devoted viewers watched breathlessly as the winning couple declared their love and went home with the cash prize.

Later this summer Finland, Germany, (French) Canada, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Nigeria are also gearing up for their local version of the power format.

Love Island is owned by ITV Studios and Motion Content Group and is distributed internationally by ITV Studios.
