Banijay Studios is filming the local adaptation of Spanish series Merlì
Banijay Studios is to adapt the Catalan series Merlí, which was produced for TV3 by Boomerang’s unit Nova Veranda. The Italian title is Un Professore

Filming started on Monday, November 1 in Italy.
The story tells the adventures of a philosophy teacher and his favourite pupils, the Peripatetics.

In Spain, Merlí finished shooting its third and final season and it's distributed by Lagardère Studios Distribution.
The series was broadcast by Catalonia’s public network TV3, and Telefónica’s Movistar+ also acquired the TV rights for the series nationwide.

The format - which is available in its original language Catalan as well as Spanish - has also been acquired by the regional broadcaster ETB to air across the Basque Country, where it will be dubbed into Euskera.

Starring Alessandro Gassman as Dante, the professor, the series is produced by Massimo Del Frate for Banijay Studios Italy. Written by Sandro Petraglia, Fidel Signorile, valentina Gaddi and Sebastiano Melloni. Directed by writer Alessandro D'Alatri.
