APA remembers beloved Camilleri with a note

Andrea Camilleri was one of the most prolific and beloved Italian authors of contemporary literature.

He was also a director, screenwriter, theatrical and television author. In Rai since 1959 he was delegated to production dealing with successful dramas, from fiction with Lieutenant Sheridan to "The investigations of Commissioner Maigret" played by Gino Cervi.

It has achieved worldwide success thanks to its successful series of novels on Inspector Montalbano published by Sellerio, from which the acclaimed television series "Il Commissario Montalbano" produced by Palomar was taken.

The first episode of the historic fiction was aired on May 6th 1999 and for over twenty years Rai 1 broadcasts the adventures of the Commissioner Salvo Montalbano, starring actor Luca Zingaretti, recording an unprecedented response to each episode or rerun.
