SLL has secured a remake deal with Thailand’s GMMTV for its hit Korean drama series Itaewon Class, expanding the company’s presence in the Thai market. The adaptation was officially unveiled on November 3 during GMMTV’s annual event, which showcased its upcoming production slate.
Based on the webtoon published by Kakao Entertainment, Itaewon Class follows a young man who, after experiencing injustice and personal loss, sets out to build his own business and challenge an established restaurant empire.
The Thai version will relocate the story to a local cultural setting while retaining its central themes of resilience, ambition and challenging the status quo. The cast will be led by Sky Wongravee, alongside Nycha Nuttanicha, Film Rachanun and Nok Sinjai. The adaptation will introduce a gender-swapped take on the original antagonist, with Nok Sinjai playing a powerful female chairwoman who leads a restaurant empire. The change adds a new dimension to the conflict between two generations with contrasting beliefs and visions of success.
The deal follows the Thai adaptation of another SLL drama, SKY Castle, which premiered on ONE31 on August 3, 2026. Through partnerships with local production companies and broadcasters, SLL continues to explore remake and international co-production opportunities across Asia.
