Academy Award-winning filmmaker Asif Kapadia takes over from the late director Michael Apted to complete the series, which has been broadcast in 157 countries. The slate also includes Plimsoll Studios’ World's Wildest Cities (6x60), a natural history series for ITV exploring the lives of animals adapting to urban environments across Rio de Janeiro, New York, Melbourne, Singapore and London.

Produced by Northern Pictures for PBS and ABC Australia, Ages of Ice (3x60) follows scientists working in some of the planet’s coldest regions to understand the changing nature of ice and its implications for the future. The series is narrated by actor David Tennant. Wonderhood Studios brings Jesus Christ: The Man, The Mystery (4x60) for BBC, combining historical research, archaeological discoveries, technology and expert testimony to explore the life of Jesus and the world in which he lived.
Rounding out the slate, Curious Films’ Spy Next Door: The Anna Chapman Story (2x60) for Channel 4 examines the 2010 arrest of 11 Russian deep-cover spies in the United States and the story of Anna Chapman, drawing on access to people connected to the Russian spy network, FBI operatives and former Russian insiders.
