MIP LONDON will not return in 2027. RX France has announced the launch of MIP TALKS, a new two-day conference set to take place on March 16–17, 2027 alongside The London Book Fair at ExCeL London.

Following MIP London’s initial two-year run, RX France is replacing the event with a new conference format designed to reflect the increasingly interconnected worlds of television, film, publishing, music, gaming, creators, technology, brands and live entertainment.

Under the theme From IP to Fandom – and Fandom to Global Business,” the inaugural MIP TALKS will explore how intellectual property is created, develops audiences and fandom, and can ultimately grow into international entertainment businesses.

The event will move beyond the traditional television market model, bringing together executives, creators, entrepreneurs, authors, athletes, brands, platforms and emerging companies to discuss the cultural, technological and commercial forces reshaping the global entertainment industry.

Rather than organising discussions around individual sectors, MIP TALKS will focus on how ideas and IP increasingly travel across different media and platforms. The programme will include headline conversations, international trends and data, case studies, cultural insights and discussions between figures from different areas of the creative industries.

Lucy Smith, Director of the Entertainment Division at RX France, said the boundaries between entertainment sectors have largely disappeared, with IP now able to originate almost anywhere and audiences moving freely between platforms and experiences. “MIP has always been about understanding where the entertainment business is going next,” Smith said, adding that MIP TALKS aims to examine “what breaks through, how fandom is built and where new global businesses are emerging.”

The partnership with The London Book Fair also creates a direct link between the publishing and audiovisual industries at a time when stories increasingly move between books, screens, audio, games, creators and live experiences.

The London Book Fair 2027 will run from March 16–18 at ExCeL London, while MIP TALKS will take place during its first two days, March 16 and 17.
