Bossanova Media has originated, financed and pre-sold a new factual series The Land That Made Us, fronted by Professor Alice Roberts, with Channel 4 in the UK, BBC Select in the US and SBS Australia among the first international buyers. The tittle (6x60'), produced by Tectonic Productions, the indie founded by Roberts alongside long-time collaborators Dom Bowles and Theo Williams, will be introduced to international buyers at MIPCOM in Cannes next month.
Currently in production, the series follows Roberts as she travels across Britain to explore how geology and landscape have shaped communities and regional identities. Combining geology, archaeology, history and local stories, the programme examines the links between the land and the people who live on it.

The Land That Made Us adds to Bossanova’s growing slate of Roberts-fronted programmes, including Secret of the Lost Grail and the four-title By Train franchise: Ottoman Empire by Train, Roman Empire by Train, Ancient Egypt by Train and Ancient Greece by Train.
