MIAM! Distribution Expands Animation Catalogue During Unifrance Rendez-Vous in Le Havre
MIAM! distribution, attending the 32nd edition of the Unifrance Rendez-Vous in Le Havre, running from September 7 to 10, has expanded its international catalogue with three new creator-led animated titles for children and young adults.

The French distributor has added Sevens**, Dad & Me and Queerstory to its 2027–2028 slate, opening new collaborations with independent French producers Girelle Production, Have a Nice Day Films, Les Astronautes and Hauteville Productions.

The three projects target different audiences and formats, while sharing a focus on identity, diversity, representation and belonging. The line-up includes a 13x22’ kids’ series centred on girls’ rugby, a 52-minute coming-of-age special about migration and bicultural identity, and a 20x6’ young-adult animated documentary series revisiting queer myths and legends.

Sevens, produced by Girelle Production, is inspired by the real-life journey of French international rugby player **Séraphine Okemba**. The series follows Rose, a middle-school girl who creates a girls’ rugby sevens team at her school and, through sport, discovers friendship, solidarity and self-confidence. Currently in development with **France Télévisions**, the series is co-directed by Guillaume Lorin and Vinnie Ann Bose, with delivery planned for Q4 2028.

Dad & Me, a 52-minute TV special produced by Have a Nice Day Films and Les Astronautes, is commissioned by France Télévisions and directed by Olesya Shchukina. Inspired by the director’s own childhood, the story follows Alyona and her father Fiodor as they leave their Russian village for Paris. Unable to speak French when she arrives at school, Alyona gradually finds her place between two cultures with the help of a rap competition and new friendships. The special is currently in production and is due for delivery in July 2027.

The third new title, Queerstory, is produced by Hauteville Productions and created by Iris Miské. The 20x6’ series combines animation, historical research, humour and pop-culture references to bring forgotten queer myths and figures back into the spotlight, from Thor’s hammer and the goddess Amaterasu to Princess Badoure from One Thousand and One Nights. The series will be delivered in May 2027 and premiere on **Slash**, France Télévisions’ digital platform for young adults.
