Netflix has announced that production begins today in the UK on The Inbetweeners 3, the new feature film continuing the hugely successful British comedy franchise.
Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas are all returning as Will McKenzie, Jay Cartwright, Neil Sutherland and Simon Cooper, reuniting the original group more than a decade after the second film. Series creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris are also back to write and direct the new movie.

The film is produced by Claire Jones, alongside Patrick Holland for Banijay and Mark Lesbirel for Fudge Park Productions. Executive producers are Caroline Levy, Caroline Leddy, Phil Gilbert, Suzanne Knight, Tom Jordan, Farhana Bhula, Iain Morris and Damon Beesley.

Beesley and Morris said: "It's been super-fun hanging out with our friends again, and we're going to work hard every week to ensure there are no problemos making this new film for humans."

Originally broadcast on Channel 4 from 2008 to 2010, The Inbetweeners followed the often disastrous teenage experiences of Will McKenzie and his friends Simon, Neil and Jay at the fictional Rudge Park Comprehensive.

The comedy became one of Channel 4's biggest hits, running for three series and winning several awards before moving to the big screen. The Inbetweeners Movie, released in 2011 and backed by Film4, topped the UK box office and at the time set a record for the biggest opening weekend for a British comedy. A second film followed in 2014, also delivering strong box-office results.
