COL Group and CP Group have entered into a strategic partnership to develop creative talent and strengthen Thailand’s growing short-form drama industry through a 360-degree collaboration spanning education, content development, production and distribution. At the centre of the partnership is a Short-Form Drama talent incubation programme, which the companies will jointly develop with a leading Thai academic institution. The initiative will connect emerging creators with the short-form entertainment sector while supporting skills development across storytelling, production and creative capabilities.
The collaboration extends beyond talent development into localised content production. COL Group and CP Group will work on a Thai Remake Collaboration, adapting selected popular titles from COL Group and FlareFlow for local audiences. Rather than simply translating existing content, the stories will be reimagined with Thai characters, settings, language and other locally relevant creative elements.
The partnership will also bring FlareFlow content directly to Thai audiences through FlareFlow Mini, a dedicated FlareFlow-branded content corner within TATANG by TrueID, CP Group’s short-form drama platform, expected to launch in September. The service will feature FlareFlow’s catalogue of vertical dramas, with new titles added weekly and content localised for Thai viewers.
"Building a sustainable short-form entertainment industry requires us to invest beyond content and into the next generation of Thai creative talent. We are pleased to partner with COL Group who shares this vision and brings deep global experience in the category. Together, we can connect education with real industry opportunities — from storytelling and production to AI-enabled creation and access to real world audiences — building stronger capabilities for Thai creators and a foundation for original Thai stories and IP to grow in Thailand and beyond,” said Patsakorn Laohrenu, Director of Business Development of Content & Media Group, CP Group.
“This partnership brings together the different pieces needed to grow short-form entertainment in a meaningful way, from developing the next generation of creators to localising proven stories for Thai audiences and creating new ways for those stories to reach viewers,” said Timothy Oh, General Manager of COL Group and CMO of FlareFlow. “By working with CP Group across talent, content and distribution, we hope to contribute to a stronger and more sustainable short-form entertainment ecosystem in Thailand.”
The collaboration brings together three key pillars of the short-form drama value chain: developing local talent, adapting proven international stories and connecting content with Thai audiences. For COL Group, it also marks a broader international expansion strategy based on combining its content and production capabilities with local partners.
