Mediaset adds Eccho Rights’ Turkish Drama My Sweet Lie to its Italian Line-Up
Eccho Rights has licensed Turkish comedy-drama My Sweet Lie (Benim Tatlı Yalanım) to Mediaset in Italy, where the series premiered on Canale 5 in August and will continue to air daily on the broadcaster’s streaming service, Mediaset Infinity.
Produced by O3 Medya for Star TV, My Sweet Lie was one of the highest-rated Turkish dramas of its launch season and has since travelled widely internationally. Starring Furkan Palalı, Aslı Bekiroğlu and Lavinya Ünlüer, the series is a warm and emotional story centred on the universal theme of parenthood.

The deal marks the latest collaboration between Eccho Rights and Mediaset, one of Italy’s leading media groups and a long-standing home for Turkish drama. Mediaset has previously acquired a number of Eccho Rights titles, including My Home My Destiny, Everywhere I Go, Brave and Beautiful and Kurt Seyit and Sura.
The agreement follows last week’s announcement that My Sweet Lie had been acquired by The Walt Disney Company for STAR Life in Portugal, as part of a two-title package alongside Everywhere I Go. The deals highlight the growing momentum of Turkish drama across major Western European territories, where broadcasters and audiences continue to embrace the genre’s emotional storytelling, strong characters and broad family appeal.

The property has also demonstrated its potential as a travelling format, with local adaptations produced in Greece, where Like a Lie aired on Open TV, and Slovakia, where Mom for Rent was produced for Markiza.
Melis Hamamcıoğlu, Director of Digital Media Acquisition & Content Sales at Eccho Rights, who concluded the deal, said: “Italy has become one of the most exciting markets for Turkish drama in Western Europe, and Mediaset has been central to that story. My Sweet Lie is exactly the kind of warm, universal series that connects with Italian viewers, and to see it land here just days after our Portuguese deal shows how much appetite there now is for these titles right across the region.”
