Twelve European and Latin American Projects Selected for the Sixth Iberseries Showrunner Training Workshop
Twelve series projects from Europe and Latin America have been selected to participate in the sixth edition of the Showrunner Training Workshop, one of the flagship initiatives of Iberseries & Platino Industria aimed at fostering new Spanish-language talent and series development within the Ibero-American audiovisual industry. The workshop will take place in person during Iberseries & Platino Industria 2026.
Sponsored by Madrid Film Office, with academic coordination by The Core School and the support of CIMA (Association of Women Filmmakers and Audiovisual Media), the workshop is designed to provide specialized training in the creative, executive, and managerial responsibilities of the showrunner—the key figure responsible for the creative vision and leadership of a scripted television series. In addition to the in-person sessions, participants will receive two online mentoring sessions in the months leading up to the event, helping them strengthen the creative, strategic, and production aspects of their projects.

The workshop is coordinated by Enrique Darriba, an executive producer specializing in television drama development and production. The mentoring team also includes leading industry professionals: Jorge Redondo, executive producer and showrunner with extensive experience in scripted television; Tatiana Rodríguez, screenwriter and creator nominated for a Goya Award for Mataharis; Miquel Peidro, script coordinator, playwright, and creator of some of Spain’s most successful daily drama series; and Leire Albinarrate, a screenwriter specializing in television fiction and international project development.

The program will also feature keynote sessions led by renowned audiovisual industry professionals, culminating in a final pitch before executives from production companies, studios, and streaming platforms. The initiative is designed to provide participants with valuable networking opportunities, business development prospects, and direct exposure to the international marketplace.
