The BBC has announced the full cast joining Edward Bluemel in Hercule, the upcoming six-part drama from Mammoth Screen and Agatha Christie Limited that explores the origins of the world's most famous detective, Hercule Poirot. The newly announced cast includes Henry Ashton (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder), James D'Arcy (Oppenheimer, Constellations), Calvin Demba (Supacell, Life), Phil Dunning (Smoggie Queens, Am I Being Unreasonable?), Jack Gleeson (House of Guinness, In the Land of the Saints and Sinners), Tamsin Greig (Riot Women, Friday Night Dinner), James Nesbitt (Cold Feet, Run Away), Guy Remmers (The Buccaneers, Lessons), Rebecca Rittenhouse (His & Hers, Maggie) and Mawaan Rizwan (Juice, The Split Up).

Production is set to begin shortly, with filming taking place primarily in Liverpool. The series offers an intimate portrait of Hercule Poirot while also painting a broader picture of Britain during the interwar years. Drawing on three of Agatha Christie's early stories, the adaptation will follow the detective's formative years, introducing key allies who will shape his future, as well as one formidable nemesis.

Hercule (6 x 60') is produced by Mammoth Screen, part of ITV Studios, and Agatha Christie Limited for BBC iPlayer and BBC One in the UK, and BritBox in North America, with a premiere planned for 2027. Benji Walters adapts the series and also executive produces alongside Jonny Campbell. Additional executive producers include James Prichard for Agatha Christie Limited, Rebecca Durbin and Damien Timmer for Mammoth Screen, Nick Lambon for the BBC, and Robert Schildhouse, Jon Farrar and Stephen Nye for BritBox. Fifth Season is handling global distribution.
