The six-part Swiss police drama The Shift, produced by Alva Films, in co-production with Hélicotronc and Ikonë Studio, and distributed by Federation International, has become the third most-watched Swiss series on RTS since its release, marking a strong performance for the premium 6x45’ production.
Blending emotional storytelling, humor and dramatic tension, the series focuses on the human side of police work, exploring the personal and collective pressures behind the uniform, including fatigue, ego, routine and responsibility.
The story begins when a routine police intervention escalates into a violent confrontation with a husband, leaving an officer critically injured. As Internal Affairs opens an investigation, the officer’s colleagues are forced to account for every decision made during the operation. What follows is a mounting interrogation process that pushes the team to confront not only their professional conduct, but also their identities beyond the badge.
The Shift is written by Romain Graf, Chloé Devicq and Léo Maillard, and directed by Romain Graf and the cast includes Luàna Bajrami, Younès Boucif, Léonie Simaga, Thibaut Evrard, Zineb Triki and Frédéric Pierrot.
