Mifa Honors Producers Behind France’s Oscar-Nominated Animation Successes
The International Animation Film Market (Mifa) presented its 2026 Mifa Animation Industry Award to a group of producers whose recent work has made a significant impact on the global animation industry. The award recognizes professionals behind three French animated features that earned Oscar nominations this year, highlighting the strength of France’s animation sector on the international stage.
Among the recipients were Sophie Mas and Natalie Portman of MountainA, alongside Félix de Givry and Ugo Bienvenu of Remembers, for Arco, directed by Ugo Bienvenu.

The award also honored Nidia Santiago and Edwina Liard of Ikki Films, Claire Lacombe of Puffin Pictures, and Henri Magalon of Maybe Movies for Little Amélie or the Character of Rain, directed by Maïlys Vallade and Liane-Cho Han. Ron Dyens of Sacrebleu Productions and Luc Camilli of Xbo Films were recognized for their work on Butterfly, directed by Florence Miailhe.

“Producing an animation film represents a years-long commitment. You must be brave, convinced and daring. You've got to believe in it, no matter what difficulties, disappointments and criticism may arise. We all are infinitely proud of the grand advances and successes of these three works, a shining example of animation throughout the world,” said Véronique Encrenaz, Director of Mifa.

According to Mifa, the triple Oscar recognition marks a landmark year for French animation, underscoring the creativity, innovation and international reach of the country’s animation studios and producers.
