Keshet International has appointed Liz Cohen as Executive Vice President of Scripted at Keshet Studios, the company’s U.S.-based production arm. She succeeds former Keshet Studios President Peter Traugott, who left the company earlier this year to join Fifth Season.
Previously Senior Development Executive, First Looks & Overall Deals at Amazon MGM Studios, Cohen will lead the development, packaging and production of Keshet Studios’ scripted slate. She will work closely with creators, writers, producers and buyers across broadcast, cable and streaming platforms, while also overseeing the company’s scripted television partnership with Sony Pictures Television. In her new role, Cohen will drive the development of projects based on Keshet’s internationally recognized formats, third-party rights acquisitions and original concepts.
“Liz brings an extraordinary combination of creative judgement, industry relationships and production experience,” says Keren Shahar, CEO of Keshet International. “She has built trusted partnerships with some of the most exciting talent, producers and creators, particularly during her time at Amazon, where she worked across an impressive range of high-profile deals and projects. She has a sharp eye for premium storytelling and a taste level that feels incredibly complementary to Keshet’s creative identity — daring, distinctive and globally minded.”
"I’ve always admired Keshet’s bold creative vision and its ability to tell stories that resonate across cultures,” says Liz. “Keshet has the rare combination of entrepreneurial energy and creative excellence. I’m excited to join Keren and the team to continue to build shows that resonate and breakthrough in a meaningful way, and I’m honored to help shape the company’s next chapter."
The appointment comes as Keshet International continues to expand its scripted business. Recent projects include Netflix’s straight-to-series order for Lovesick, starring Claire Danes and showrun by Sarah Treem, as well as Save the Date from showrunner Dana Fox, developed through Keshet Studios’ first-look deal with Sony Pictures Television. The company has also secured international streaming deals for two Keshet 12 dramas: Spiro Films’ thriller Unconditional, currently rolling out globally on Apple TV+, and Red Alert, which is available worldwide on Paramount+.
