The initiative will debut during the next edition of the market, taking place from October 12-15, 2026 in Cannes, bringing together AI companies, studios, streamers, producers, creators, brands and IP owners at a time of profound transformation across the entertainment ecosystem.
As AI continues to reshape production models, workflows, monetisation strategies and creative processes, the new forum aims to become a dedicated hub for partnerships, business development and discussions around the future of the global content economy.
Among the first confirmed partners are Versos AI as Headline Partner and Protege as Official Partner. The exhibition line-up will also include companies such as HappyClient, Lingopal.AI, LoglineAI and Massif Network, with additional international players expected to be announced in the coming months.
“What we are witnessing with AI is not an incremental evolution, but a fundamental transformation of how content will be created, financed, distributed and monetised over the next decade,” said Lucy Smith, director of MIPCOM Cannes.
“MIPCOM CANNES 2026 will bring together the international entertainment community not simply to discuss this shift theoretically, but to build partnerships, develop business opportunities and define the industry’s next chapter.”
The MIP AI Entertainment Forum will focus on three major areas where AI is already driving commercial acceleration, innovation and investment across the international media industry.
The forum will explore the creative potential of generative AI in television and film storytelling, next-generation content formats and creator-led productions. Discussions will also focus on AI-powered creative tools and emerging approaches designed for platform-native and digital-first audiences.
Sessions will examine the growing use of AI throughout the production pipeline, including AI-assisted production, metadata automation, dubbing, subtitling, localisation, virtual production and operational efficiencies.
The event will also analyse new monetisation opportunities connected to content libraries and archives for AI training, discoverability, FAST ecosystems, audience monetisation, rights management and AI-enhanced engagement strategies.
The launch of the MIP AI Entertainment Forum forms part of a broader strategic expansion for MIPCOM CANNES 2026, which also includes the recently announced MIP BrandWorks and a significantly expanded Creator Economy presence. Together, these initiatives position MIPCOM at the crossroads of media, technology, creator culture and the evolving digital content economy.
