Seriencamp Conference 2026 Spotlights the Future of TV Storytelling
The 2026 edition of the Seriencamp Conference is set to reinforce Cologne’s position as one of Europe’s most important hubs for television and serial storytelling. Taking place from June 9 to 11, the event has now revealed its full programme, bringing together more than 1,000 creatives, executives and decision-makers from across Europe for three days dedicated to scripted content, co-productions, technological innovation and the future of audiovisual storytelling.
This year’s conference will combine high-profile international guests, industry showcases and discussions about emerging storytelling trends, while also placing particular emphasis on the technological challenges and opportunities currently reshaping the audiovisual sector.

One of the key highlights of the programme will once again be the Producers’ Vision Pitch, a showcase designed to connect producers and creative professionals through presentations of upcoming projects and potential international partnerships. Among the companies participating this year are Finnish production company Yellow Film & TV, known for Arctic Circle; Denmark’s Nordisk Film, producer of the Oscar-nominated The Girl with the Needle; Berlin-based Studio Zentral, behind Cannes winner Sound of Falling; and Media Res Studio, whose credits include The Morning Show and Pachinko.

Another major addition to the 2026 programme is the launch of the European Series Development Award, an initiative created by the Council of Europe in collaboration with the European Broadcasting Union Fiction Expert Group. The award will debut during the conference, underlining Seriencamp’s growing importance as a platform for international industry collaboration and creative development.

Gaming and cross-media storytelling will also play a central role in this year’s edition. Nordisk Film CEO Katerine Vogelsang will attend alongside Robert Henrysson of Supermassive Games and Stefanía Halldórsdóttir of Avalanche Studios. As part of the Games & Series programme, they will discuss the adaptation potential of gaming intellectual properties for television and audiovisual storytelling. Particular attention will be given to Directive 8020, the newly launched science-fiction horror game from the creators of Until Dawn and The Quarry.

The conference’s industry-oriented sessions will feature a strong international perspective. Hollywood agent and producer Alan Greenspan will participate in an Ask Me Anything session focused on organic co-production development and packaging strategies for television series, while producer Marc Lorber will discuss financing structures and international partnerships between the United States and the Middle East. Talent agent Zetha Asafu-Adjaye will instead examine the increasing importance of personal branding for below-the-line creative talent.

US showrunner Steven Kane
, whose credits include Halo, Jack Ryan, The Last Ship and The Closer, will explore the challenges of adapting video games into serialized television narratives. Meanwhile, media analyst Johanna Koljonen, together with Marike Muselaers of Nordisk Film, Alex Traila from the Council of Europe and political commentator Lee Rudolph, will discuss the growing social and political significance of television narratives as part of the conference’s Nostradamus Report panel.

The second Work in Progress showcase will offer attendees exclusive previews of highly anticipated projects. BBC Studios’ Richard Acton and ZDF’s Yi Qiao will present the British-German co-production The Reluctant Vampire, while Julia Nisslein of Amazon MGM Studios and head writer Sebastian Colley will introduce The Perfect Mismatch?!, starring Anke Engelke and Bastian Pastewka for Prime Video. Additional presentations will include a forward-looking session from ZDF Quantum and a discussion on the future of series storytelling at ARTE.

A particularly timely section of the conference will focus on vertical social video and micro drama, formats that are rapidly transforming global viewing habits and content production strategies. Speakers including Gregor Sauter, Bo Zhang, Will Buckingham, Felix Mann, Nitay Dagan and Lukas Lankisch will analyse the creative, economic and strategic dimensions of these emerging storytelling models.

The event will also welcome representatives from a broad range of major international companies and broadcasters, including Amazon Studios, ARTE, Banijay, BBC Studios, Beta Film, Constantin Film, Disney, France Télévisions, ITV Studios, Keshet Fiction, Netflix, Prime Video, Warner Bros. Discovery, ZDF and many others.
Running in parallel with the conference will be the Seriencamp Festival, Germany’s largest festival dedicated entirely to television series, which will host nearly 20 world and European premieres at the Cinenova cinemas in Cologne Ehrenfeld.
