L.A. Screenings 2026 Kick Off as Hollywood Studios and Indies Unveil New Global TV Slates
While the international industry gathers this week at the Cannes Film Festival, another major television event is about to begin in Los Angeles: the 2026 L.A. Screenings, the traditional showcase where the major U.S. studios and independent distributors unveil their upcoming programming slates to international buyers.

This year’s market will officially kick off tomorrow with the Independent Screenings, which will run through Friday, May 14 yo Saturday 15 at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills. The indie segment once again represents an important platform for global distributors and production companies looking to present new scripted and unscripted titles, formats and acquisitions to broadcasters and streamers from around the world.

Starting Saturday, the focus will shift to the Hollywood studios, with screenings and events hosted directly on the major lots across Los Angeles until May 20, when The Walt Disney Company will close the week with the final presentations of the market. The Beverly Hills location offers a strategic midpoint between Hollywood and Century City, facilitating movement between hotel screenings and studio presentations.

The studio calendar is packed. Paramount Global will host screenings on May 16 and 17, including sessions dedicated to Latin American buyers. NBCUniversal will screen from May 16 through 18, while Sony Pictures Television has scheduled presentations and events on May 17, with additional Latin American screenings on May 19.

Warner Bros. Discovery will present its slate on May 18 and 19, while Disney’s showcase will continue through May 20. Other key players participating include Amazon MGM Studios, Lionsgate and Fifth Season.

Networking events remain central to the L.A. Screenings experience. Fox Entertainment will once again host its traditional party on the Fox lot on Sunday, May 17, while Argentina’s Telefilms will organize its customary cocktail event during the indie screenings at the SLS Hotel.

At a time when buyers are becoming increasingly selective and the industry continues adapting to new economic realities, the L.A. Screenings remain one of the most important appointments for the global television business — a key marketplace where studios and distributors present the content expected to shape the next television season worldwide.
