RTP and SPi have scored a major digital success with RTP Micro Series, which has surpassed 17 million views within seven weeks of launch. Debuting in March, the short-form fiction initiative features five original vertically filmed series created specifically for mobile consumption and distributed across RTP Play, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube.
Directed by Manuel Amaro da Costa, the slate spans multiple genres, including romantic comedy Sabores de Amor and drama Além do Silêncio. According to the latest performance data, the project has attracted audiences across different age groups while generating an average viewing time of 22 minutes per user.
The initiative reflects RTP’s push into innovative digital-first storytelling formats as viewing habits increasingly shift toward short-form and social-first consumption. The public broadcaster positioned the project around the concept of short and impactful fiction, with the campaign slogan stating that every second counts.
The performance marks a significant milestone for Portuguese digital fiction production and reinforces growing demand for premium short-form scripted content designed for multi-platform audiences.
