Keshet International’s The Search to Be Adapted in Spain as Sopa de Letras for Telemadrid
Telemadrid is once again tapping into the international format market with a local adaptation of The Search, the Israeli game show distributed by Keshet International. Produced by Globomedia, the show will air as Sopa de letras.

The format transforms the classic word search into a fast-paced studio competition, combining physical challenges with cognitive skills such as language, speed, and teamwork. The Telemadrid version will be hosted by Jota Abril and is scheduled to premiere on May 9, airing in a weekend daytime slot (15:30). The format structure sees three pairs of contestants competing to identify hidden words, solve definitions, and complete language-based challenges under time pressure, with a top prize of €10,000

While not new to Spain—previous versions aired on Aragón TV and Canal Sur—the format’s return highlights its scalability and strong regional appeal. Originally created by Youngest Media for Keshet 12, The Search has also been adapted in Uruguay and Belgium, demonstrating flexibility across markets and audiences.
