Poland’s public broadcaster TVP has commissioned a first season of The Smartest Person which will air locally under the title Omnibus. The Polish adaptation is set to launch on March 3rd 2026 on TVP1 and is being produced by Rochstar.
Originally created and produced by Woestijnvis for Play in Belgium, The Smartest Person in the World is one of Belgium’s most recognisable and long-running brands, dominating audiences across its eight-week broadcast runs. The format also continues to perform strongly in The Netherlands, where it airs twice a year. Season 28 is set to launch this Spring on NPO1.
The Smartest Person in the World is a daily quiz format, where three celebrity contestants lay claim to the title of The Smartest Person, guided by a host and a sharp-tongued jury of two comedians who’s sympathetic, grumbling and often scathing commentary adds a strong dose of comedy. Across a series of fast-paced quiz rounds, correct answers earn valuable seconds, with strategy and time pressure driving the competition. The top scorer advances, while the remaining two face elimination, culminating in a final week where one contestant earns the title of The Smartest Person in the World for an entire year.
Emma Gosling, Sales & Acquisitions Manager at Primitives, who brokered the deal, said: “We’re delighted to bring this iconic and hugely successful format to Poland.
