Sphere Abacus Lines Up Major Unscripted Deals Ahead of Realscreen 2026
Sphere Abacus is heading into Realscreen Summit 2026 with strong momentum, announcing a slate of significant international sales across a wide range of premium unscripted titles from award-winning independent producers.

Among the highlights, "Killer Kings" (6 x one hour), produced by FirstLookTV, has secured a broad international footprint with sales to BBC Select in the US and Canada, Prima Group in the Czech Republic, RTL Germany, Foxtel Group in Australia and Viasat World across CEE, the Baltics, the CIS and the Nordics, including Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

Honey Bee Media’s "Freddie Mercury: A Secret Daughter?" (1 x 90 minutes) has also attracted strong buyer interest, landing deals with RTL+ Hungary, Channel Nine Australia, Yes TV Israel, Channel HOT8 Israel and TVNZ New Zealand.

True crime continues to perform strongly for the distributor, with Brinkworth Productions’ "The Real Unforgotten: The Unsolved Murder of Carol Morgan" (2 x one hour) selling to Play Media Belgium, BBC Select US/Canada and Sky Germany, while Cold Case Investigators (2 x one hour) has been picked up by TV2 Denmark, Foxtel Group in Australia and Sky Germany.

Perpetual Entertainment’s "Secret Sex Lives of Tyrants" (6 x one hour) has been acquired by Foxtel Group Australia, Sky Germany, Channel HOT8 Israel and Yes TV Israel, further reinforcing demand for high-end historical and investigative content.

Factual specials have also driven sales, with Air TV’s "Prince William: A Life In Pictures" (1 x 45 minutes) licensed to Radial Entertainment in the US, SBS Australia, TVP Poland, CBC Canada and Estonian Public Broadcasting.

Tomos TV’s "Queens of Combat: Rome’s Female Gladiators" (1 x 55 minutes) has been secured by Rai Italy, Czech TV, Viasat World across CEE, the Baltics, the CIS and the Nordics, BBC Earth South Africa and France TV.

In the sports and biography space, Noah Media Group’s "I’m Carl Lewis!" (1 x 99 minutes) has sold to Madman Australia, Canal + France, Yes TV Israel and VRT Belgium.

Further deals include "Spacewoman" (1 x 95 minutes) from Haviland Digital and Tigerlily Productions, acquired by Czech TV, Channel HOT8 Israel, Yes TV Israel, Canal + France, BBC Earth South Africa and VRT Belgium, and "Apollo 1" (1 x 102 minutes), produced by Stopwatch Productions, 7T1 Films and Haviland Digital, which has sold to Channel HOT8 Israel, SIA Lithuania, Foxtel Group Australia and BBC Earth South Africa.
