Speculation is intensifying around a potential consolidation between Banijay and All3Media. The French production group confirmed it is in discussions with the UK-based company, issuing an official statement on 13 January in response to earlier reports by Reuters. Banijay stressed, however, that “no decision has been taken and there can be no assurance that a transaction will be concluded.”

Both groups have pursued aggressive acquisition strategies over the past decade, building two separate European mini-majors in production. Among the most significant deals was Banijay’s acquisition of Dutch format powerhouse Endemol Shine in July 2020, while All3Media acquired NENT Studios from Viaplay Group in 2021. More recently, in 2024, All3Media itself was acquired from shareholders Liberty Global and Warner Bros. Discovery by RedBird IMI, a private equity joint venture between New York-based RedBird Capital and Abu Dhabi–based IMI.
