Rai 1 expands its holiday drama offering with Se io fossi te, a new two-part series premiering in first run on Sunday 28 December at 21:30, with the second episode airing on Monday 29 December.
Se io fossi te is a co-production between Rai Fiction and Eagle Original Content, produced with the support of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Film Commission. The series is written by Andrea Valagussa and Valerio D'Annunzio.
Starring Laura Chiatti and Marco Bocci, the cast also includes Vincenzo Ferrera, with the special participation of Sebastiano Somma, Bebo Storti and Nino Frassica, alongside a strong ensemble of supporting performers.
The story centres on Massimo Mancuso and Valentina Sangiorgi, two people living in the same city and working for the same company, yet separated by radically different lives. Massimo is a widowed factory worker struggling to support his children and his ailing father; Valentina is the daughter of the company’s founder, seemingly protected by wealth, status and a secure future. When personal and professional crises strike both of them—an ill child on one side, a collapsing family business on the other—their paths inevitably collide.
Driven by resentment, misunderstanding and desperation, the two characters end up wishing to be in each other’s shoes. Their wish comes true, triggering a body-swap that forces both to experience the other’s reality from the inside. What begins as a clash becomes a journey of empathy, revealing hidden fragilities behind privilege and unexpected strength within hardship.
