Autentic has announced the launch of its first Autentic Matchmaking Day, an international pitching event dedicated to documentary and factual series and multi-part formats currently in development.
The one-day online event will take place on June 16, 2026, and aims to connect leading factual producers with broadcasters, platforms and key decision-makers involved in factual commissioning. The initiative is designed to actively support projects on their path to commission by bringing together suitable financing partners, both within established relationships and new collaborative constellations.
A curated selection of projects with strong international appeal and market potential will be presented. For all projects that move forward to production, international distribution rights will be handled by Autentic.
Participation guidelines and the submission timeline will be announced at the end of January 2026.
Alexandra Böhm, Head of International Coproduction at Autentic, said: “In a time when the factual and documentary sector faces tighter budgets and shrinking commissioning opportunities worldwide, international cooperation has become essential to get projects off the ground. Autentic Matchmaking Day will provide a focused, accessible platform to showcase high-quality, internationally relevant projects. As a distributor with a strong global network, Autentic’s strength lies in strategic matchmaking—connecting the right projects with the right partners to maximize co-production opportunities and accelerate the path from idea to commission.”
