Trento hosts the fourth edition of Vis-à-Vis on December 17–18, 2025, a two-day professional networking and matchmaking event for the audiovisual sector promoted by Trentino Film Commission. The two-day event brings together more than 100 industry professionals, 60 projects and 43 production companies, confirming its role as a key annual meeting point for the Italian and North-Eastern European audiovisual community.
The opening session featured greetings from Francesca Gerosa, Provincial Councillor for Education, Culture, Youth and Equal Opportunities, and an address by Giuseppe Consoli, President of Trentino Sviluppo. The event takes place in the institutional setting of Palazzo Geremia in Trento, chosen for the announcement of a new agreement aimed at strengthening financial support for audiovisual production in the region.
On this occasion, Trentino Sviluppo formalised an agreement with Mediocredito Trentino-Alto Adige, signed by President Giuseppe Consoli and Managing Director Diego Pelizzari. The agreement introduces dedicated financial instruments designed to support production companies willing to invest in Trentino, addressing one of the sector’s most critical issues: access to liquidity during the early phases of production.
The programme includes panels with major national and international broadcasters such as Rai, Warner Bros. Discovery and Tv2000, alongside distributors including Luce Cinecittà, HBO Max, I-Wonder Pictures and ADR Distribution, as well as producers Fremantle and Indigo Stories. Over the course of more than 139 one-to-one speed meetings, production companies presented their projects to broadcasters, distributors and potential co-producers, engaging also with North-East Film Commissions, Green Film and the Creative Europe Desk Italy MEDIA.
Although unable to attend in person due to commitments at the Provincial Council, Councillor Francesca Gerosa sent a message of support for the initiative. She highlighted the results achieved in recent years by the “made in Trentino” audiovisual sector, noting the success of fiction and storytelling projects that have enhanced the region’s cultural, historical and natural heritage in Italy and abroad. Gerosa also underlined Trentino’s growing reputation not only as a filming location, but as a production hub supported by a skilled professional community that meets annually through Vis-à-Vis.
The agreement between Trentino Sviluppo and Mediocredito Trentino-Alto Adige allows producers working on films, documentaries, short films, series or reality shows in Trentino to apply for dedicated financing from the start of production to cover liquidity needs, and subsequently to assign the accrued Italian tax credit upon completion of the work. This mechanism is particularly relevant for small and medium-sized production companies, for which cash flow constraints often represent a significant barrier.
“Setting up a production, especially for small and medium enterprises, remains challenging,” said Giuseppe Consoli. “This agreement responds directly to that reality and represents, we hope, a first step towards a broader framework of support for local cultural industries, helping the Trentino film sector to grow and consolidate.”
The financial instruments introduced by Mediocredito TAA are also linked to a public call launched last month by Trentino Sviluppo, aimed at creating a concrete interface between businesses and banking tools for growth. According to Diego Pelizzari, the agreement confirms the bank’s commitment to the local real economy and cultural enterprises. The model provides early-stage financing supported by the European guarantee for Culture and Creativity (CCS – EIF, InvestEU) and enables the subsequent monetisation of the Cinema Tax Credit, ensuring a complete and coherent financial support cycle for audiovisual productions.
Vis-à-Vis is promoted by Trentino Film Commission and Creative Europe Desk Italy MEDIA, in collaboration with Veneto Film Commission, FVG Film Commission, Fondo Audiovisivo FVG and IDM Film Commission, and is organised with the support of Labmedia.
