Keshet International has signed a multi-year first-look arrangement with Sony Pictures Television, which will receive exclusive first-look access to develop and produce English-language adaptations of titles from Keshet International’s broad scripted portfolio, working in collaboration with Keshet Studios.
The initial project set under this agreement is the U.S. version of the Keshet 12 hit comedy “Save the Date”, with Dana Fox (Wicked: Part One, Wicked: For Good) joining as showrunner. Fox recently signed an overall deal with Sony Pictures Television, which includes the TV reimagining of the murder-mystery board game Clue, currently being pitched in the marketplace.
“Save the Date” is a warm, humorous comedy centered on Dassy, a successful wedding planner who suddenly becomes single. The Israeli series features an all-star cast that includes Tomer Capone (The Boys, When Heroes Fly) alongside Adi Havshush (Daddy Issues, Sirens) as Dassy and was Israel’s highest-rated drama of 2024. Produced by Tedy Productions with Reisdor, and created by Ori Gross, Yoav Tsafir, Tmira Yardeni, Tamara Salem, and Tamar Marom, with Eitan Zur as director, “Save the Date” has recently been renewed for a second season by Keshet 12, Israel's most-watched TV network.
"Keshet has built an impressive reputation for innovative programming and compelling narratives through their creative vision and international reach,” says Katherine Pope, President of Sony Pictures Television Studios. “We’re thrilled to partner with Avi, Keren, Peter, and their teams, who consistently deliver top-tier global content, and we're especially excited to have the incredible Dana Fox join our first project with them."
“Keshet and Sony are both known for high-quality, bold, and distinctive content,” notes Keren Shahar, CEO of Keshet International. “As like-minded independent companies, we share a creative vision and a genuine passion for developing ideas that resonate with audiences worldwide. Partnering with Katherine and the talented team at Sony feels like the perfect fit and a natural next step for Keshet Studios.”
Peter Traugott, President of Keshet Studios, adds, “Teaming up with Katherine and everyone at Sony Pictures Television marks a compelling new chapter for Keshet Studios. Working with Sony’s exceptional drama and comedy teams has already been an inspiring creative collaboration, and we’re particularly excited about our first project with Dana Fox.”
