The Madrid Audiovisual Cluster has introduced the Madrid Audiovisual Observatory, a new platform aimed at compiling, structuring, and projecting essential information on how the audiovisual sector is developing within the Madrid region. 

The Observatory was created with the purpose of delivering a clear, rigorous, and easily accessible view of the sector’s activity in the Community of Madrid, positioning itself as a reference tool for audiovisual stakeholders, institutions, and the wider public. The initiative is organised around three core components: Agenda Madrid, offering a segmented overview of festivals, competitions, and industry events; Data Madrid, which compiles key indicators through a dynamic infographic and documentary archive; and Radar Madrid, a space focused on identifying trends, initiatives, and emerging projects shaping the future of Madrid’s audiovisual arena.

During the opening remarks, Raúl Berdonés, President of the Madrid Audiovisual Cluster, stressed the relevance of having tools that “enable a better understanding of the sector’s present and help anticipate the challenges and opportunities that will arise in the coming years.” He also highlighted that the Observatory “will be a living, continuously updated space that brings transparency, context, and strategic insight at a key moment for the industry.”

The event closed with contributions from Luis Martín, Deputy Minister for Culture, Tourism and Sport of the Community of Madrid, and Inmaculada Sánchez-Cervera, Chief of Staff to the Mayor of Madrid. Both expressed their endorsement of the initiative, emphasising its capacity to enhance the sector’s competitiveness and bolster Madrid’s status as one of the country’s main audiovisual hubs.

The day also featured the General Assembly of the Madrid Audiovisual Cluster, where the 2026 budget and activity plan were approved, and new members admitted since the previous assembly were welcomed. The meeting reflected the members’ support for the work carried out and their shared dedication to strengthening initiatives that drive the audiovisual ecosystem in Madrid.
