Premiering on Tuesday, November 12 on Food Network (Channel 33) and available for streaming on discovery+, Sagre d’Italia takes viewers on a journey through Italy’s most authentic regions, where every local festival tells a story of flavors, traditions, and community.
Hosted by Giusi Battaglia and Antonino La Spina, president of the UNPLI (Unione Nazionale Pro Loco d’Italia), the series explores lesser-known corners of the country, offering a portrait of an Italy that remains vibrant and deeply connected to its roots. Each episode focuses on traditional sagre — local fairs that preserve and celebrate regional identity.
From Calabria’s red onions and swordfish to Basilicata’s Sarconi beans and Moliterno’s canestrato cheese, the series travels north to Lombardy’s gorgonzola and Soncino roots, and then to Emilia-Romagna’s garlic and cappelletti al cicciolo. The journey also reaches Sardinia’s stunning coastline and rugged hinterland, with additional stops in Tuscany, Sicily, Lazio, Abruzzo, and Veneto.
Through local dishes, customs, and encounters with the people behind each festival, Sagre d’Italia captures the essence of Italian culture and the deep bond between food and community.
Produced by Casta Diva, in collaboration with UNPLI, Sagre d’Italia is a Warner Bros. Discovery original production. Episodes air every Tuesday at 10:00 p.m. on Food Network, Channel 33 (Digital Terrestrial and Tivùsat), and are available for streaming on discovery+ immediately after broadcast.
