Netflix releases on November 4, Terrazza Sentimento, a new three-part documentary series that revisits one of the most disturbing cases in recent Italian news — the downfall of Alberto Genovese, once hailed as a visionary entrepreneur and one of the brightest figures in Italy’s start-up scene.
Genovese, founder of Prima.it and Facile.it, was later accused and convicted of sexual assault, aggravated bodily harm, possession of child pornography, and drug-related crimes. The documentary reconstructs the events that led from his rapid rise to his public and judicial collapse.
Produced by Fremantle Italia, the series is developed and written by Alessandro Garramone (also executive producer), co-written with Davide Bandiera and Annalisa Reggi, produced by Gabriele Immirzi, and directed by Nicola Prosatore.
Terrazza Sentimento examines not only the criminal acts committed during Genovese’s notorious parties but also the broader social and cultural context in which they occurred. Through testimonies and archival materials, the series reflects on the darker side of a world built on wealth, privilege, and hedonism — a world where excess became the norm and moral boundaries dissolved.
The city of Milan serves as an indirect protagonist: a symbol of ambition and innovation, home to Italy’s start-up elite, but also a setting where glamour and decadence coexist. At the heart of the story lies “Terrazza Sentimento”, the luxurious penthouse that gives the series its title. Once a place of social prestige, it has become a symbol of excess and abuse — financial, chemical, and personal.
The documentary aims to depict not only the harm inflicted on the victims but also the self-destructive spiral of a man who abused his own power, freedom, and ultimately himself.
