All3Media International has revealed that Two Brothers Pictures’ “The Assassin" has been secured by partners spanning five continents. The title has been acquired by top-tier platforms including AMC, HBO, Warner Bros. Discovery, BBC Studios, and NBCUniversal, joining co-production partners ZDF (Germany) and Stan (Australia). The six-part production premiered earlier this year on Prime Video in the UK and Ireland.

In North America, AMC Networks’ premium streamer AMC+ will debut the series in the United States on November 20, while Canada’s leading media group Bell Media has acquired The Assassin for both its SVOD platform Crave and CTV Drama Channel. Additionally, NBCUniversal LATAM has taken pan-regional rights for Universal+.

Across EMEA, the six-episode show has been picked up by public broadcasters including DR (Denmark), SVT (Sweden), VRT (Flemish Belgium), and NPO (The Netherlands). The Assassin has also been licensed to HBO Max (France), Mediaset (Spain and Italy), COSMOTE (Greece), HOT (Israel), Freedom Media (Kazakhstan), and Evision (Middle East).

In New Zealand, the series will be available on Sky Free, airing on Three and ThreeNow. Further agreements across the Asia-Pacific region include BBC Studios’ pan-territory acquisition covering Asia and India for its premium drama SVOD brand BBC First and its multi-genre service BBC Player. The six-part series has also been licensed by WOWOW in Japan and Sohu in China.

Set against the picturesque backdrop of a secluded Greek island, the story follows retired assassin Julie (Keeley Hawes) and her estranged son Edward (Freddie Highmore) as they are forced to unite in a desperate fight for survival. With Edward’s paternity in question and Julie’s perilous past catching up to her, the duo must flee the island and go on the run together.
