Rai 1 drama series Noi del Rione Sanità tells the story of Father Giuseppe Santoro, a priest with a strong character and an innovative spirit, who is forced to leave his post at Poggioreale Prison after several inmates escape during a social reintegration outing he had organized. The Curia transfers him to the Sanità district — an area plagued by widespread crime and high school dropout rates, where young people see little hope for a different future. Despite the hostile reception, Father Giuseppe gradually begins to find his place in this new environment, standing up both to the strict directives of the Curia and to the power of the local crime boss, Mariano. Matteo and his father Mario Verga won Io Canto Family 2025 with 63% of the votes, ahead of Alice and Gianvito. They received €50,000 and an invitation to R101 radio. The show, hosted by Michelle Hunziker, featured coaches Serena Brancale, Sal Da Vinci, Ermal Meta, and Giusy Ferreri, with judges Patty Pravo and Noemi.
