The Canary Islands International Film Market (CIIF Market) has officially presented its 21st edition, which will take place in Santa Cruz de Tenerife from October 27 to 31, 2025. The event brings together projects from eight countries—Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Spain, Mexico, Panama, Peru, and Portugal—confirming the Canary Islands as a strategic hub for international co-production between Europe and Latin America.
For over two decades, CIIF Market has established itself as a key meeting point for producers, distributors, and investors, with the goal of promoting financing opportunities and fostering international co-production for feature films, documentaries, and television series aimed at the global market.
The 2025 edition will feature a diverse and comprehensive professional program, including pitching sessions, one-to-one meetings, networking events, panels, screenings, and training activities that will turn the capital of Tenerife into a vibrant center of international audiovisual activity for an entire week.
During the official presentation, held at Santa Cruz City Hall, the Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez, the CEO of the Society for Development Carmen Pérez, and CIIF Market Director Guillermo Ríos highlighted the city’s growing role in the audiovisual sector. Bermúdez emphasized Santa Cruz’s commitment to supporting film and TV production:“Next week, our city will become a large film set where national and international producers will present their projects in search of the support needed to bring them to life. Santa Cruz takes film production seriously—47 productions have already been filmed here this year alone.”
Carmen Pérez added that the sector is a major source of employment in the city, representing 14% of all new contracts signed in 2025. Employment in audiovisual production has increased by 32.5% in the past two years, making it one of the fastest-growing industries in the region.
Director Guillermo Ríos reaffirmed the Canary Islands’ growing influence in global content creation and investment:“In these 21 years, CIIF Market has played a decisive role in strengthening the creative and business fabric of the audiovisual sector, serving as a bridge between Europe and Latin America.”
