The launch of Channel 4’s newest adventure series "Worlds Apart," distributed by ITV Studios, smashed the ratings with both 16-24s and over 65s. For both age groups, it outperformed Channel 4’s slot averages (share up 38% and 18% respectively).
The opening episode of the epic treasure hunt across Japan, which first broadcast on 7th October, consolidated with a 0-7 day big screen audience of 1.3m and was one of the most-watched new reality launches this year. It is Channel 4’s biggest 9pm reality debut since April 2023. The UK-originated reality competition has also arrived strongly on Channel 4 streaming, already achieving over 30 million minutes viewed since launch.
"Worlds Apart" (5x60’) sees six young brits who have never travelled alone being paired with pensioners who thought they’d never travel again in a treasure hunt around Japan. The pairs set off chasing clues and trying to overcome the generation gap to win a life changing cash prize of £50,000.
"Worlds Apart" is produced for Channel 4 by South Shore. Executive Producers are Melanie Leach, Andrew Mackenzie and Louise Allen.
