The international sales team of RTVE, led by Javier González, returns to MIPCOM Cannes from October 13 to 16 to present the Corporation’s latest productions, with the fiction series Sin Gluten and La Frontera taking center stage.
Sin Gluten, which debuted as the top-rated premiere in Spain and marked the best comedy launch on La 1 in a decade, follows Ricardo (Diego Martín), a successful chef who refuses to acknowledge his alcohol problem—especially after receiving a Michelin Star and running a fully booked restaurant. However, one night of excess leads to a major mistake, and he is fired. With no other options, he returns to the culinary school where he began his career, this time as a teacher. There, his students—young people from diverse backgrounds, some at risk of social exclusion—help him rediscover his passion for cooking and reconnect with a more honest, simpler life.
La Frontera, set in 1987, tells the story of Mario Sanz (Javier Rey), a captain of the Guardia Civil who tries to prevent a dissident ETA group from carrying out an attack in Paris. This gripping police thriller is intertwined with an impossible love story, unfolding in a race against time where the protagonists face betrayal, criminal networks, and dilemmas of loyalty.
In addition to these two titles, RTVE’s sales team will showcase an extensive catalog of content across all genres, many of which have received international awards.
RTVE also stands out for its wide array of international linear channels, which continue to gain subscribers worldwide. These include the generalist channel TVE Internacional, the 24-hour news channel Canal 24 Horas, the fiction-focused Star TVE, and the children’s channel Clan.
Additionally, RTVE offers exclusive access to its subscription-based on-demand platform, RTVE Play+, available in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Oceania. The platform features over 100,000 hours of content and offers streaming access to all four linear channels.
