On the third day of Iberseries & Platino Industria 2025, one of the morning’s events was the unveiling of Natural Media Lab, presented by Fundación Secuoya in collaboration with the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha. The presentation took place in Nave12 and featured speakers such as Samuel Castro (director of Fundación Secuoya) and Ana Isabel Fernández Samper (Director General of Tourism, Commerce and Crafts of Castilla-La Mancha).

Samuel Castro opened by laying out a core ambition: to create conditions under which audiovisual professionals can grow without having to leave their territories. Through mentoring programs for companies up to three years old, participants will learn essentials such as financing, project pitching, legal frameworks, and strategies for internationalization.

He also introduced the upcoming creative writing workshop, “Incredible but True: From Reality to Fiction”, scheduled for December 13 and 14 at the Parador de Sigüenza. The workshop invites professionals to adapt real events and local stories of Castilla-La Mancha into cinematic narratives with global potential. The roster of mentors includes established names such as Anna Rodríguez Costa (Fácil, Arde Madrid), Esther Feldman (Okupas, Lalola) and Cristóbal Garrido (Fariña, Días Mejores). This initiative underscores the region’s hope that local stories can carry global resonance.

Fernández Samper, speaking on behalf of the regional administration, emphasized that Castilla-La Mancha does not intend to be a satellite of Madrid but to nurture its own audiovisual identity. She affirmed that the Natural Media Lab is part of a broader plan to anchor people, projects, and companies in the region. She also teased forthcoming news about a regional audiovisual HUB under development.
