Rabbit Films Picks Up Global Distribution Rights to
Rabbit Films has acquired the international distribution rights to both the tape and format of "The Unusual Report", a comedy travel show that takes viewers on a journey through a country’s most wonderfully bizarre local stories.

Co-created by Kevin & Co and comedian Guy Williams, "The Unusual Report" (originally titled New Zealand Today) follows a charmingly underqualified ‘volunteer’ journalist as he seeks out ordinary people who have made headlines in the most extraordinary ways – from viral memes to heartwarming community stories that capture the internet's attention.

"We are thrilled to bring 'The Unusual Report' to international audiences. This format is such a perfect mix of weird and wonderful – it captures those uniquely human stories that exist in every community, but with such a comedic lens. What excites me most is imagining how this concept will translate across different cultures. I can't wait to see the international versions and discover what bizarre, heartwarming, and utterly essential local stories other hosts will uncover in their own communities", says Rabbit Films’ VP International, Sam Ferguson.

“Over four seasons, 'New Zealand Today' has become a national treasure on Three, with millions more tuning in on YouTube to watch Guy and his brilliantly offbeat stories of small-town Kiwis. There’s a love for the show internationally – Guy has been overwhelmed by the number of fans of the show he met on his recent comedy tour of the UK and Ireland. We’re beyond thrilled to have Rabbit Films on board to take The Unusual Report to the global market, Sam Ferguson’s passion for the show means it couldn’t be in better hands, says Kevin & Co’s Executive Producer, Bronwynn Bakker.

The series has enjoyed consistent success in New Zealand, airing on Sky Free’s Three and ThreeNow since 2019 across four consecutive seasons, with a fifth season currently in production. There are a total of 40 x 30 min episodes available. This marks the show's debut in the international distribution market.

Kevin & Co continues to expand Guy Williams' global reach, with "New Zealand Today" ready-made episodes now streaming on Netflix across Australia and New Zealand. The show joins a growing catalogue of New Zealand content on the platform.
