Canary Islands International Film Market 2025 Closes Call for Projects as It Prepares for 21st Edition

Canary Islands International Film Market 2025 Closes Call for Projects as It Prepares for 21st Edition

The Canary Islands International Film Market (CIIF Market) has officially closed its call for audiovisual projects for the 2025 edition, marking the end of the submission period ahead of its 21st edition, which will take place from October 27 to 31, 2025, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Over the past months, the market invited national and international creators to submit fiction and documentary projects—in feature film, series, or docuseries formats—aimed at the international market. Projects were required to be presented in Spanish or English, with a minimum duration of 60 minutes, and backed by a financing plan covering at least 20% of the budget.

With its mission to foster financing, co-production, and global distribution, CIIF Market has become one of the leading professional forums in the Ibero-American audiovisual industry. It offers producers a strategic platform to connect with financial partners, distributors, sales agents, platforms, and programming managers, generating real business opportunities for projects in development.

Organized by Festeam Comunicación y Eventos S.L., the market is supported by Cabildo de Tenerife, Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, and the Government of the Canary Islands, alongside key industry partners such as Turismo de Tenerife, Tenerife Film Commission, Canary Islands Audiovisual Cluster, and Macaronesia Films.

A committee of industry experts will now evaluate all submitted proposals. Up to 12 projects will be chosen for the National and International sections, and up to 5 Canarian projects will be selected for the Focus Canarias Section. Selection criteria will include the quality and viability of the projects, the track record and talent of the creative teams, and innovative approaches in both storytelling and distribution strategies.

The selected participants will benefit from:

One-to-one business meetings with industry professionals

Pitch sessions with potential partners

Access to all networking activities, conferences, panels, and social events during the market

Furthermore, CIIF Market will grant prestigious industry awards such as the CIIF Market Santa Cruz de Tenerife Award, Cabildo de Tenerife Award, Music Library & SFX Award, and the MAFIZ Award (Malaga Festival), in addition to post-production services, strategic consulting, and tools promoting audiovisual sustainability.

As the countdown to October begins, CIIF Market 2025 is shaping up to be a vital hub for co-production and international collaboration, reaffirming its position as a key meeting point for the global audiovisual community.
