MIPCOM CANNES and Sony Pictures Television (SPT) today confirmed that The Miniature Wife, one of the most talked-about upcoming dramedies, will receive an exclusive international buyers’ screening on the opening night of MIPCOM CANNES (13–16 October 2025).
The special preview will take place Monday 13 October at 18:00 in the Grand Auditorium, Palais des Festivals, open to all registered delegates. Following the screening, cast members Matthew Macfadyen, O-T Fagbenle, and Sian Clifford will take part in a Q&A session.
Produced by Media Res (The Morning Show, Pachinko), The Miniature Wife is a high-concept relationship dramedy starring Elizabeth Banks (The Better Sister, Pitch Perfect) and Matthew Macfadyen (Succession). The series follows a couple whose marriage — and power dynamics — are thrown into chaos when a technological mishap leaves the wife shrunken to miniature size.
Adapted from Manuel Gonzales’ short story, the series is created by Jennifer Ames and Steve Turner (Boardwalk Empire, Goliath), who also serve as showrunners and executive producers. Greg Mottola (Superbad) directs the first two episodes. The cast also includes Zoe Lister-Jones, Sofia Rosinsky, Ronny Chieng, Aasif Mandvi, Rong Fu, and Tricia Black.
Global distribution is handled by SPT, with the U.S. premiere slated for Peacock in 2026.
“After the strong response at L.A. Screenings, we’re excited to bring The Miniature Wife to MIPCOM,” said Mike Wald, Co-President, Distribution & Networks, SPT. “With its star-studded cast, sharp writing, and originality, it’s unlike anything else at the market.”
“MIPCOM’s Opening Night is about delivering exceptional first looks to our global buyers,” added Lucy Smith, Director of MIPCOM CANNES. “We’re thrilled to host such a distinguished cast for what promises to be a standout event.”
