Hat Trick International Bolsters Health & Wellness Slate with New Channel 4 Titles
Hat Trick International has added two new Channel 4 health and wellbeing titles from award-winning factual producer Plum Pictures to its slate of health and wellness content.

Several sales have already been closed for What Not to Eat (4 x 60 mins) and Do You Have ADHD? (1 x60 mins) ahead of their international launch at MIPCOM. What Not to Eat has been picked up by SBS Australia, while Do You Have ADHD? has been acquired by TV2 Norway. In addition, Do You Have ADHD? attracted 810,000 viewers to its 9pm timeslot for Channel 4 when it TXed in the UK in early August.

Fronted by Professor Tim Spector and Dr Kandi Ejiofor, What Not to Eat sets out to help viewers navigate the bewildering world of ultra-processed foods (UPFs), which are largely responsible for the world’s obesity epidemic.  As Professor Spector — the UK’s leading gut-biome expert — puts it: “It’s hard for people to make good dietary choices when what they’re sold as ‘healthy’ food, in my view, can hardly be defined as food at all. I passionately believe that even quite modest changes to our diet can have a big impact on our health…”

Do You Have ADHD?, meanwhile, explores the complex neurological condition that has become one of the UK’s most-searched health-related topics. Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is thought to affect around 2.6 million people in the UK and yet, with its wide variety of symptoms, it is a notoriously difficult condition to diagnose.  Enter Dr Karan Rajan, surgeon and internet health myth buster, former GP, Dr Clare Bailey Mosely, who set out to demystifying the diagnosis process while offering viewers creative advice on how to live their best lives with an ADHD brain — including helping those with the condition to celebrate their unique strengths and abilities.

Sarah Tong, director of sales at Hat Trick International, said: “Conversations around obesity, diet and mental health have increased markedly in recent years — and quite rightly — which makes What Not To Eat and Do You Have ADHD? timely as well as topical. All credit to Plum Pictures for producing two brilliantly researched and presented programmes that will genuinely inform and educate while they entertain. From HTI’s perspective, both titles fit well alongside our other health and wellness shows, such as Plum Picture’s Michael Mosley: Secrets of Your Big Shop and from Lune Media for Ch9 Australia Do You Want To Live Forever?, which have both sold well around the world since they launched internationally at MIPCOM last year.”
