The 31st edition of the Unifrance Rendez-Vous in Le Havre officially opened on Monday, September 1, 2025, with an evening ceremony held at the MuMa – Musée d’Art Moderne André Malraux. The event welcomed leading industry professionals and international buyers, setting the tone for a week of screenings, networking, and business opportunities.
The opening took place in the presence of Édouard Philippe, Mayor of Le Havre and Chairman of the Le Havre Seine Métropole Urban Community, alongside Gilles Pélisson, President of Unifrance.
MuMa: A Post-War Architectural and Cultural Landmark
In his address, Édouard Philippe spoke passionately about the significance of the MuMa—the first major museum built in France after World War II. Designed between 1952 and 1961 and inaugurated by André Malraux, the museum is a striking example of modernist architecture, harmonizing glass, steel, and natural light.
Today, MuMa houses one of the largest Impressionist collections in France, second only to the Musée d’Orsay, featuring masterpieces by Monet, Renoir, Pissarro, Corot, Degas, Manet, and Gauguin. For Philippe, the museum is both a symbol of Le Havre’s resilience and a beacon of cultural excellence.
The Mayor expressed his hope that the week ahead would be fruitful for business and inspiring for the buyers and participants who had traveled from across the globe.
Gilles Pélisson: Welcoming the Global Industry
Gilles Pélisson also extended a warm welcome to the attendees, underlining the Rendez-Vous’ role as a vital meeting point for the international television and film industries. He noted that Unifrance’s presence extends far beyond Le Havre, with active collaborations at major global festivals, including the Venice Film Festival.
