Leadership Reshuffle at All3Media International
All3Media International has announced a major leadership update in its Americas team, promoting Jennifer Askin to Executive Vice President, Americas, as Sally Habbershaw departs to relocate to the UK.
In her new role, Askin will head the distributor’s New York-based Americas team, driving growth and maximizing opportunities for All3Media International’s multi-genre catalogue across the region.
Askin joined the company in 2021 as Senior Vice President, North America, overseeing sales in the US and Canada. During this time, she struck a series of high-profile deals, including long-running partnerships with Acorn TV for Midsomer Murders, Brokenwood Mysteries and Doc Martin; agreements with Britbox for scripted dramas like Trigger Point and factual entertainment formats such as Race Across the World; and a notable pre-sale with PBS for Silverback’s Parenthood (part of WNET’s Nature strand). In Canada, she also secured the launch of The Traitors with Bell Media through an innovative dual-language local production deal, while also selling record numbers of the show’s international editions.
A veteran of content distribution, Askin previously held senior positions at Kew Media Distribution, Alfred Haber Distribution and 4Kids Entertainment. Before moving into distribution, she worked in network and cable news, with roles at ABC News, NBC News and MSNBC in both New York and London.
CEO Louise Pedersen praised the appointment, said:“Jen has already been a huge asset to the team since joining in 2021, significantly expanding our North American business, so we’re delighted to recognise her talent and contribution with this promotion. With her extensive knowledge of the US market, as well as her varied experience, strong strategic skills and well-established client relationships, Jen is the ideal executive to lead our team in this dynamic and fast-changing territory. We would like to thank Sally Habbershaw for her contribution to the company and wish her every success.”
Askin expressed excitement about her expanded role, commented:“I’m excited and honored to move into this key leadership position and take on an expanded role at All3Media International. Across the Americas, there continues to be strong demand for premium international content. With our award-winning multi-genre portfolio and partnerships with some of the industry’s best creative talent, we’re in the perfect position to maximise the potential of this key market, via both distribution and co-production.”
The announcement also includes further changes to the New York office. Whitney Muroff joins as Vice President, North America. She brings significant experience in content acquisitions and distribution, having most recently worked at Warner Bros Discovery on Discovery+ and Max, and previously as Senior Director, Global Content Acquisitions & Co-Productions at Filmrise, as well as in sales and distribution at BBC Studios.
Meanwhile, Cristina Smith has been promoted to Manager, Sales and Commercial Strategy, North America, after joining the Americas team in 2022.
Askin welcomed the new team updates, said:“With her multi-faceted experience, Whitney is a very welcome addition to our team, and I have no doubt she’ll make a meaningful impact immediately. I’d also like to congratulate Cristina on her promotion. She has a proven track record of success, and I look forward to seeing her thrive in her expanded sales role.”
