Channel 4 Teams Up with NHS Blood and Transplant for Dating-While-Donating Series
Channel 4 has partnered with NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) to launch Love is in the Blood, a two-part branded entertainment series for Channel 4.0 that mixes dating and blood donation. Hosted by Adeola Patronne (Ready or Not, Worst in Class, Tapped Out), the show follows eight singletons going on blind dates behind dividers—while giving blood.

Each pair includes an experienced donor and a first-timer, helping ease nerves while highlighting the simplicity of the process. After their “donation date,” participants choose whether to meet face-to-face or walk away anonymously.

Sam Hicks, Head of Sales Strategy at Channel 4, said: “Dating shows continue to attract audiences, and this series proves you can meet someone anywhere—while also busting myths about blood donation.”

Mark Chambers, Director of Donor Experience at NHSBT, added: “We need over 200,000 new donors each year, including 17,000 from Black heritage, to meet demand. This series shows younger audiences that donating is quick, easy, and lifesaving.”

Produced by Word on the Curb, Love is in the Blood premieres Tuesday 19 August on Channel 4.0.
