Alessandro Volpato has been appointed director of acquisitions for HBO Max Italy by Warner Bros Discovery, ahead of the platform’s anticipated launch in early 2026.
In his new role, Volpato will oversee content acquisitions for the Italian streaming service and will work closely with the EMEA streaming acquisitions team to assess projects with pan-European potential.
Volpato brings with him significant experience from his time at Prime Video and Amazon Studios, where he held the position of senior content acquisition manager. During his tenure, he played a key role in the development and launch of several Italian originals such as Pesci Piccoli, Sconfort Zone, and Sono Lillo, as well as international productions including Those About to Die.
His earlier career includes a stint at Warner Bros International, where he was based in London as manager of international TV distribution. He also contributed to the company’s strategic operations, working between London and Los Angeles.
