Realscreen Summit and NATPE Global Kick Off in Miami with Record Attendance
Miami’s Intercontinental Hotel is abuzz with activity as the Realscreen Summit begins today, launching a five-day industry gathering that will seamlessly transition into NATPE Global. The two events, running back-to-back, will continue until February 7, drawing in key players from the global television and content industries.

During a press conference held this morning, event organizers revealed that a combined total of more than 2,350 delegates have registered across both summits. This represents a significant increase compared to the previous year, reflecting the growing demand for networking, content acquisition, and strategic partnerships within the entertainment sector.

Exhibitor numbers are also on the rise, with over 120 exhibitors showcasing their latest programming and innovative projects. The vast majority of these exhibitors hail from North America, although there is notable participation from key international players. Notably, NATPE Global has seen a 13% increase in attendance over last year, while Realscreen Summit, which was previously held as a stand-alone event in New Orleans, has experienced an 11% rise in participation.

The Realscreen Summit opened with a highly anticipated keynote conversation featuring Jason Sarlanis, President of TNT, TBS, TruTV, ID & HLN, Linear and Streaming at Warner Bros. Discovery. Sarlanis addressed the evolving landscape of unscripted programming, highlighting shifting viewer preferences, streaming strategies, and the growing demand for true crime and investigative docuseries.

As part of the discussion, Sarlanis unveiled a major new project: the multi-part docuseries "A Body in the Snow: The Trial of Karen Read", slated to premiere on Investigation Discovery (ID) over three consecutive nights from March 17-19, 2025. The gripping series delves into the controversial 2024 Karen Read murder trial, providing exclusive behind-the-scenes access to Read, her legal team, and key voices involved in the case. The project reflects the increasing audience appetite for high-profile legal dramas, a trend that ID has successfully capitalized on in recent years.

Beyond the opening keynote, the Realscreen Summit and NATPE Global promise an action-packed lineup of panel discussions, networking sessions, and exclusive content screenings. Key highlights include:
“The State of Unscripted” Panel, featuring top executives from major networks and streamers discussing market trends and opportunities.
